A kitchen remodel is the highest-impact renovation most Tampa homeowners will ever take on, and it is also the one most likely to go sideways when it is handled by someone who does not understand Florida construction. Restowrx came up doing restoration work — opening walls after water and fire losses and finding out what is really behind them. We bring that same habit to kitchens. We would rather find the corroded supply line or the undersized panel during demolition than have you find it a year after the tile is down.
What a Tampa Kitchen Remodel Actually Involves
Anyone can hang cabinets. The difference between a kitchen that looks good on day one and one that still looks good in year ten is almost entirely in the work you cannot see: the framing behind the island, the way the drain line was pitched, whether the exhaust actually terminates outside the building or just dumps into the attic.
Permits and Inspections
If your project moves plumbing, alters electrical circuits, or takes out a wall, it is a permitted job. There is no gray area, and an unpermitted kitchen becomes a real problem at closing when the buyer’s inspector notices a load-bearing wall that no engineer ever signed off on. We pull the permit, schedule the inspections, and hand you the closed-out paperwork at the end.
Building for Florida Humidity
Tampa runs humid nearly year round, and that dictates real material decisions. Particleboard cabinet boxes swell at the toe kick the first time a dishwasher weeps. Unsealed grout in a coastal climate stains and harbors growth. We specify plywood boxes, we seal the substrate under stone, and we make sure the range hood is ducted to the exterior rather than recirculating grease-laden air back into the room.
Our Process
- Walkthrough and measure, including a look at the panel, the water heater, and the attic above the kitchen
- Written scope and fixed proposal — you see line items, not one lump-sum number
- Selections for cabinetry, counters, tile, plumbing, and lighting before demolition begins, so the schedule does not stall waiting on a backordered faucet
- Permit submission to the appropriate jurisdiction
- Demolition, rough plumbing and electrical, inspection
- Drywall, cabinetry, counter template and install, tile, trim, paint
- Final inspection, punch list, and closeout
What We Handle
- Full gut kitchen renovations
- Custom and semi-custom cabinetry
- Quartz, granite, and solid surface countertops
- Load-bearing wall removal with engineered beams
- Island additions, including new electrical and drain runs
- Backsplash and floor tile
- Lighting design, recessed cans, and under-cabinet lighting
- Appliance rough-ins and gas line work
Serving All of Tampa Bay
We work throughout Tampa and the surrounding communities, and the job changes meaningfully depending on where your house sits. A 1920s bungalow in Hyde Park has almost nothing in common with a 1990s tract home in Brandon or a block-built ranch in St. Petersburg. Select your area from the location menu to see how we approach kitchens in your neighborhood.
